Welcome to the visitors portion of the Blackford Veterans Memorial Bridge In this portion of our site there will be news and updates about the Blackford, Veterans Memorial Bridge project. In addition: - You may light an inspirational candle in honor of a hero who has fallen in the cause of peace and freedom. They may be anyone who has lost their life while serving us all. These include those who served in the military, fire and police who died in the line of duty, civilians who stepped forward in time of crisis and anyone else who has given their life protecting us all. All who served gave some and some gave all. Freedom is not free.
- You can tell the story of a hero who has a brick in the Veterans Walk of Honor. Their stories need to be told and passed to a younger generation so we never forget. When registering to tell their stories, please register in their name so their name will appear in the list instead of yours. We would like you to sign the post with your name if you wish.
- When you register in the name of the hero you are honoring you may post pictures in the gallery. These may be pictures taken at the park adjacent to the Veteran’s memorial bridge, or photos of the hero you are honoring.
- We also provide a convenient option for you to be able to tell your friends and family about the post you have made in honor of your hero, or just to tell them about the site and the Blackford Veteran’s memorial Bridge Project.
Unfortunately in this day and age there are those who would desecrate the memory of these heroes. To avoid that all post have to be approved by a member of the site staff before it will appear. We apologize for the need to do this and hope you understand. Should anything inappropriate appear on this site, please notify the site staff through the contact form so it can be removed.
